Practical solutions

I was talking with my friend Joel Jackson and he gave me an idea for a blog.  Whenever we speak, the subject matter is not just the supernatural, but practical solutions for people.  For example, if you have cavities, it may be because your eating too much sugar.  Of course God can supernaturally fill in those cavities, but if he doesn't, I guarantee you it's because he's telling you to stop eating all that candy.  Consuming too much sugar will rot your teeth, period.  (besides all the other harm it does to your body, such as welcoming free radicals into your cells.)  We shouldn't go to extremes with the supernatural power of God because of what Jesus did.  God wants us to be responsible with our bodies.  Don't develop the mindset that you can eat anything you want because Mark 16 says that believers will drink deadly poison and it will not harm them.  That scripture verse is not implying that you can purposefully drink deadly poison since you have that verse to protect you.  That's just stupid thinking.

Weight training is good.

If you want more energy, you can start a weight training program.  Working out with weights makes you stronger.  Since the principle of sowing and reaping applies, you end up with more energy.  You give energy, you get energy.  When you have more energy and your stronger, you can do more of the Lord's work without getting tired.  Some may say, if you walk continually in the Spirit, you won't get tired.  That simply is not true.  Look at John 4:6-...and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well.

You live in a physical body and that body is subject to weakness.  Strong, tight muscles support the skeletal system and help correct pore posture, thereby taking unnecessary stress off of certain organs.  Your body will also utilize oxygen more efficiently and your cells will do a better job of transporting nutrients.  Everything works together and the fitter you are overall, the healthier you are going to be.  I understand that this is not always the case, but as a general rule, it is true.  Of course, there are also aesthetic reasons to be fit.  You will look better and feel better about yourself.

In order to keep a healthy balance and acknowledge what is most important, I will end with 1Timothy 4:6.  For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.  I encourage you to walk in obedience to the Lord, but to also take care of your body.  Be strong and healthy, in Jesus' name.

Forget synthetics, real food is medicine.

King Hezekiah got sick and was dying.  He wrote down his thoughts about the situation after his recovery. There are a few points I want to make.  Hezekiah wrote, "In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?"-Isaiah 38:10.  What's interesting here is that he felt as if he was being robbed by dying earlier than he thought he should.  Nowadays, we have Christians that will say, "Well, it must have been God's will for him to die at that early age."  No, God has promised us long life, meaning 70, 80 or 90 years.  Some think even longer and I have no problem with that.  The oldest person in the world just died at 115.

The Lord gave Isaiah a practical answer for Hezekiah's recovery.  "Prepare a poultice of figs and apply it to the boil and he will recover."-Isaiah 38:21.  No man-made chemicals.  God made figs!  Even though you can enjoy divine health because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, God still uses practical solutions, because he never gets rid of something good.  I would encourage you to eat figs.  Get the organic kind that are not preserved with sulfur or any thing else.

Exposing the lies

Ephesians 5:11 says, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."

Big business and government are partners together in destroying food for the sake of profit.  When food is processed and cooked, it kills enzymes, which are vital for good health.  Your body makes certain enzymes, but not all that are needed.  You have to consume them with the food you eat.  That's why when you eat raw,  your eating "living" food, because the enzymes haven't been destroyed by heat.  Enzymes are needed for proper digestion and absorption of nutrients.  The "dead" foods are the reason why so many people have colon problems and irritable bowel syndrome.

The same holds true for milk.  When milk is pasteurized (heated), the enzymes are destroyed, along with "good" micro-organisms (probiotics).  Big business lobbies say that raw milk is not safe because of pathogens.  This is only the case when poor sanity conditions exist or the animal is sick.  It has nothing to do with the milk itself.  Dairy farmers who sell raw, unpasteurized milk (in states where it's legal), go through strict government testing to make sure the animal is healthy.  Tests have been conducted where pathogens have been introduced into raw, unpasteurized milk and the micro-organisms in the milk actually killed the pathogens.  All the cooking (in the name of safety), is really for the sake of extended shelf life, which of course equals money.

Promote the health benefits of raw, unpasteurized cow and goat milk and expose the subtle lies that are propagated to fill people with fear.

Proverbs 27:27-You shall have enough goat's milk for your food, for the food of your household and the nourishment of your maidservants.

Turn from evil and eat healthily.

Are you tired?  Do you need more energy?  There are a number of potential reasons for this.  The word of God has the best answer.  "My son, give attention to my words;  Incline your ear to my sayings.  Do not let them depart from your eyes;  Keep them in the midst of your heart;  For they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh."-Proverbs 4:20-22.  Verse 23 tells us what the writer means:  Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.  Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put perverse lips far from you.

Doing the right thing in the eyes of God is the best way to stay healthy, but this God also gave the people dietary practices to be healthy.  The book of Daniel gives us a good example of the results of eating healthy (Daniel 1).  Daniel was in a foreign land with his brothers and was given rich food to eat and didn't wish to defile himself by eating it.  He requested vegetables and water for 10 days.  After the 10 days, he and others looked better and were sharper in their minds than everyone else in the kingdom.

Let us not just be God-fearing in our minds and actions, but let us also take care of our bodies in order to feel great, look great and be sharp in our wits.  Eat a wide variety of raw vegetables and fruits.  (mostly veggies)
